This year, Nepal government is planning to increase the number of tourist arrivals with the increase of their average stay including their expenditure. Nepal, finally launched Nepal Tourism Year 2011 at Dasarath Stadium with special opening ceremony in Kathmandu. But it is not an easy task for the government as Nepal is already in the torment of Political instability and conflict. For meeting that target, at least, there should be the guarantee of stopping any kind of strike and clout. As,  private sector has appealed to the political parties to hold strictly to their commitment to making 2011 free from strikes and other activities that cause regretted  to tourists, but still it really seems doubtful.

 

Everyone prefers quality when they pay. The world is of competition. If the tourism sector try looking for the quality tourists, it would be really difficult to meet their needs. In case of infrastructure also, government has a great challenge. From the expectation of the government point of view, if incase; the arrival of tourist meets the government target then it will be huge challenge to dare their expenditure and accommodation.

 

Nepal experienced 1998 as Visit Nepal Year (VNY). At that time as well, Nepal was in the political chaos. Still, doubt and concern gets valid because politically the country is still in mess .do you think in this middle of chaos nepal tourism year 2011 would be a success or would it have been better if the government commenced the nepal tourism year after the political stability?
