Actually, we can count on our finger tips of those Nepali artists who churns out good, momentous and never-ending songs. The well blessed artist always took a little long to come up with their new creation. The reason might be that the music they churn out is of quality good. One such name that immediately yields up in our mind is an amazingly gifted and unique singer. Known for his humbleness as much as for his unique brand of music and singing style, Yogeshwor Amatya established his credentials with his forever hits like ‘Jaba Sandhya Huncha’ and ‘Kya Bore Bhayo’.

It’s already been more than 15 years of our good relationship. I still remember our first meet. That was the occasion of my album launch and I invited him as a guest. After that moment, I got to know him personally. He is a good human being. He is very soft and helpful. He is unique with his style. His singing style and voice is exceptionally unique. I really admire his feelings while he sings. I personally feel proud to be his friend. As for his style, I just don’t really have any idea; how to express in words. I am a great fan of his style. One thing; I start to wear half – pant after seeing him wearing. Now, it’s my favorite and I feel more comfort wearing it.

We are literally from different genre of music. His songs are more touched with pop sort and mine touched more with folk. But still, I like his style and the way he sing. I do my hats off for his song selection. I can proudly say that, he is one of the best singers of Nepal. He looks very jolly with his outlook but at the same time, he is very sentimental and has a deep knowledge about every genre of music. We have been together during our Hongkong tour and after, we did the show together of Pokhara and Kathmandu. I respect him as my elder brother and for his soft and friendly nature.

‘Yogi’ is my clos
e and special friend. Singing wise, I find him singing distinctive song only. He really doesn’t believe in commercialization. He is very selective for his songs. I worked with him in different songs like ‘Dasa Nai Ho Ki’, ‘Kya Bore’, ‘Laija Chari’, Shanti Lukau Kaha’
and in others too. I have found a truth and feel in his voice. As for his style – I should respect him for his dare. Sometimes, he wore goggles in the dark and he could wear half pant very casually. But personally, I really don’t dare to do it. People said, too much closeness create some conflict and misunderstanding. I think it’s true. In our friendship also, sometimes it does happen. He hurts me and I might hurt him too. We stopped talking for few days regarding our downs and up but again we became normal.
